Aloha! I'm David Barton, a member of the AImuster Team. My passion for the computer industry was sparked during my four-year journey in software engineering at university. Following my graduation, Accumulated over 9 years of experience as a software consulting engineer, I am well-versed in software across different platforms and can use them with expertise.

I take pleasure in exploring software design and applications and often share my findings online, with being eager to offer you rewarding support through our thorough testing.

Part 1: What Is ChatGPT

GPT-4 is the latest model in the GPT series by OpenAI, known for generating human-like text. A recent report from Illinois University suggests GPT-4 is generally more reliable than GPT-3.5. It's smarter, handles longer prompts, and makes fewer factual errors. However, GPT-3.5 is faster and lacks GPT-4's hourly prompt restrictions. Notably, GPT-4 is in testing and not widely available, but you can access it through a ChatGPT+ membership or Poe App.

My Findings: ChatGPT Plus/ChatGPT 4 offers continuous availability, ensuring access even during peak hours. It provides quicker response times and grants priority access to new features and updates. Users with ChatGPT Plus can also enjoy responses powered by GPT-4.

Part 2: What Makes ChatGPT Stand Out

1. Intelligent conversation: It mimics human expression and creates a harmonious conversation experience. It even has context memory, guessing what the user wants to ask, especially if the question is uncertain.

My Trial Experience: ChatGPT can answer the questions it has just answered word for word, and even when you give it no command but just words, it can guess the command you want it to perform. Yet, it is unable to provide real-time information as its knowledge was last updated in January 2022 as of now.

2. Long Content Generation: Let you quickly create your own custom models by fine-tuning OpenAI's base models with your training data.

My Trial Experience: When I asked, "Peter and John got into a fight at school. Peter started the fight first, but he got hurt in the end. As Peter's father, should I tell the teacher about it or simply call the police right now?" It gave constructive suggestions and details on what to do. However, sometimes, even without a human intellect, if you request him to compose a paper, he might decline, along with providing insightful counsel.

3. Content Optimization: It is almost the most admirable AI known in terms of content optimization, such as rewriting, simplifying, expanding, and so on.

My Trial Experience: It is much stronger than Bing Chat in terms of retaining its core meaning and making the content more concise when abbreviating and rewriting the content. The latter, sometimes, cannot perform tasks such as rewriting.

4. Safe: Using tech that demands your email and phone for login raises privacy concerns. The company says it'll
keep user data for 30 days and won't use chat data for training. However, using ChatGPT in customer service chatbots raises data collection and storage questions during live chats. Some worry companies might not secure data well, risking user data breaches.

My Trial Experience: I have utilized this tool for a duration of six months, and based on my observations, my content remains secure. However, please note that ChatGPT is inaccessible in certain countries. Therefore, when employing a VPN, it is advisable to connect to a European location instead of the United States. Failure to do so may result in the inability to access its service and potential account suspension. Just try later.

Part 3: How to Access ChatGPT and Use It

To use ChatGPT, sign in to chat.openai.com and subscribe if necessary. Next, start a text-based conversation by typing your questions or prompts. ChatGPT will respond, and you can continue the conversation, refine your queries, and save the text if needed. For the latest details, visit the OpenAI website.

Please be aware that the availability and utilization of ChatGPT may have changed since my previous update in January 2022. Therefore, it is advisable to refer to the OpenAI website or platform for the latest information and guidelines regarding accessing and utilizing ChatGPT.

Part 4: Pros & Cons of ChatGPT

Part 5: What Are the Common Prompt Words for ChatGPT?

Users are allowed to utilize a wide range of prompt words to get responses. However, if you're new to the platform, you might find it challenging to communicate effectively. Here, we'll outline some of the commonly used prompts in everyday interactions to help you get started.

Part 6: The Latest ChatGPT (Plus) Reviews [Helpful]

My Findings: ChatGPT currently ranks around 4.6 points on some software collection websites, with a total score of 5 points. The G2 website scored 4.7 points, with a total of 378 comments. The Product Hunt website scored 4.7 with a total of 350 reviewers, while the Software Advice website scored 4.5 with a total of 226 comments. But there are also some unsatisfactory scores, such as Trustpilot only getting 2.5/5.0.

ChatGPT Reviews
Peter E. (5 Stars)
Once you have a basic understanding of how to prompt, it's pretty easy, and you make quick progress. Its amazing how creative the AI model is and how accurate the output is. I use it mostly for content creation, and sometimes I am scared of creativity.
Jeevan p. (4 Stars)
Most of the time, it gives you repetitive results that are not relevant to what you want. If you want to write a blog, you can’t completely depend on its results. You must search the latest news and trends on the web to verify the details. Despite this, it is a really beneficial platform.
Geoff Cheung (3 Stars)
Good for writing and some stuff, but a lot of the information given, even prior to 2022, is incorrect. Not a reliable source of information. It even contradicts itself. Overall, for a free program, not bad.

McMalester (2 Stars)

I feel like ChatGPT lost the smarts over time. It gives me so much incorrect information; it makes mistakes in basic math. It even forgets that there are 1024GB in 1TB and thinks that there are 1000GB. I loved ChatGPT, but lately, it has gotten more annoying than useful.
Alon Gautam (1 Star)
Absolutely trash. All of the answers provided and wrong, and it's so untrustworthy. I was provided with 3 same codes, and it gave me 3 different outputs. After I asked if all these codes were the same, it tried to argue, showing 2 codes that were the same and telling it was different.

FAQs about ChatGPT

Q1: Is upgrading to ChatGPT Plus a good investment?

While ChatGPT Plus can be valuable for staying up-to-date with the latest features, it's generally not essential for most users.

Q2: Why is ChatGPT controversial?

ChatGPT is controversial due to concerns about inappropriate and biased responses, misinformation, privacy, and the potential for misuse. Its ability to generate content without supervision and mimic human communication raises ethical and accountability issues in AI technology.

Q3: Can ChatGPT be detected?

Possibly. Turnitin's AI detection tech will expand next year to Turnitin Originality subscribers. It will enhance the Similarity Report, revealing the likelihood of AI-generated content.

Q4: How Does ChatGPT Work?

ChatGPT is powered by machine learning, specifically neural networks. These algorithms analyze a vast dataset of human-generated text to learn language patterns and word relationships. Once trained, they generate text by predicting the next words in a given input.

AI writing models, including NLP and neural networks, focus on understanding and generating human language. They're coded to continuously improve themselves. These models can create various written content, but human input is still crucial for their current state of development. For a more detailed look, please refer to the image below.

how chatgpt work

Q5: Why does ChatGPT say it's at capacity?

ChatGPT may indicate it's at capacity during periods of high usage, ensuring quality responses and preventing system overload. This means it has reached its limit, and new users may need to wait.

Q6: Can ChatGPT be a substitute for Google Search?

Chatbots are being integrated into search engines. For instance, Microsoft has incorporated Bing Chat into Bing search, while Google is experimenting with Google Bard integration into its Search Generative Experience. These are separate products for now, but a future with a unified experience is foreseeable.

My Point of View

ChatGPT, including the latest GPT-4, has significantly impacted AI language models. This AI tool excels in providing quick answers, content generation, and language understanding. However, it's vital to use it judiciously due to occasional inaccuracies. Meanwhile, GPT Plus offers advantages like priority access, but it may not be necessary for all its enthusiasts.

On balance, ChatGPT is a full-fledged AI model with vast potential. Still, its responsible and discerning usage is crucial, considering its limitations and ethical implications.
